Gilbert Burgos, MD, MPH, Chief
Medical Officer
Gilbert
Burgos, MD, MPH, joined Care Choices in May 2003 as Chief Medical
Officer, and is responsible for providing strategic and operational
leadership for the Care Choices medical affairs area including
pharmacy and medical management.
Prior to joining Care Choices, Dr. Burgos served as Senior Vice
President/Medical Director for Vista Health Plan in Florida, where
he had responsibility for integrating the medical operations of
three merged health plans. His healthcare leadership experience
also includes serving as Executive Director, Medical Resource
Management, for Kaiser Permanente in Rockville, Md.; as Chairman,
Department of Adult Medicine, for Humana/Mitchell-Trotman Medical
Group, in Washington, D.C.; and as Associate Medical Director for
Humana Health Plan in Washington, D.C.
Dr. Burgos earned his bachelor’s degree from Fordham University
and his medical degree from Albert Einstein College of Medicine.
He holds a master’s degree from the Harvard School of Public
Health, with a concentration in Health Policy and Management.
He is board certified in internal medicine, and is a Board Certified
Physician Executive through the American College of Physician Executives.

Mike Koziara, Chief Financial
Officer
Michael
Koziara has been with Trinity Health since 1997, serving as Director
of Managed Care Services for Mercy Health Services for two and
a half years prior to his appointment as Chief Financial Officer
of Care Choices in April 2000. As Director of Managed Care Services,
his accomplishments included the coordination of system-wide managed
care system strategies, as well as management of a system-wide
best practices operational work group. As CFO, he is responsible
for all financial reporting, as well as financial planning & analysis,
underwriting, and provider network development and contracting.
Before joining Trinity Health, Mike was Director of Finance and
Administration at Allegiance, LLC, a physician hospital organization,
and also served as Healthcare Audit Manager with Coopers & Lybrand
in Detroit. Mike also spent several years in the oil business in
both Michigan and Texas.
Mike received his bachelor’s degree from Central Michigan
University, Mt. Pleasant, and his masters of accountancy degree
from Eastern Michigan University, Ypsilanti. He is a Certified
Public Accountant and has a wide array of audit and finance experience
as well as managed care leadership.

Jelka Petrovic, Chief Marketing
Officer
Jelka
Petrovic is Chief Marketing Officer of Care Choices, and is responsible
for providing strategic and executive leadership and oversight
of the sales, account management, product development, agent relations,
marketing and communication activities for Care Choices HMO and
Preferred Choices PPO.
Jelka comes to Care Choices with over 25 years experience in the
healthcare field in both the payor and provider segments. Prior
to joining Care Choices in 2004 as Director of Product Development
and Marketing, Jelka was Director of Sales and Account Management
for HealthPlus of Michigan. Previously she was with the Detroit
Medical Center, where she held the position of Director, Marketing,
Enrollment and Customer Service, in the Managed Care Division.
In this capacity she led the development of their PHO supported
products. Jelka started her career at Blue Cross Blue Shield of
Michigan where she gained experience in operations, finance and
marketing, rising to the position of Manager, Corporate Key Accounts.
Jelka holds a bachelor’s degree in finance from Wayne State
University as well as numerous professional designations related
to the healthcare insurance industry.

Jeanne Dunk, General Counsel
Jeanne
Dunk joined Trinity Health in June 2002 as General Counsel to Care
Choices and Assistant General Counsel to Trinity Health, bringing
with her 17 years of legal experience. Jeanne has private practice
experience (serving multiple clients in the healthcare practice
groups at the Dykema Gosset and Foster Swift law firms), and in-house
experience (at Computer Sciences Corporation, the Detroit Medical
Center and the Henry Ford Health System). Jeanne focuses her legal
practice in the areas of managed care law and intellectual property/information
systems law.
A member of the American Health Lawyers Association, Jeanne serves
as an arbitrator and mediator on healthcare and information technology
issues. She also is a member of the Healthcare Financial Management
Association, the Michigan Society of Hospital Attorneys, the State
Bar of Michigan (and its sections on Health Law and Computer Law),
and the Detroit, Oakland, and American Bar Associations.
Jeanne is a frequent speaker locally and nationally, with a particular
emphasis on managed care and information technology law. She also
is a published author, most recently through participation with
a group of lawyers who authored the American Health Lawyers Association’s
2001 Managed Care Handbook.
Jeanne received her bachelor’s degree in accounting and
finance from Michigan State University. She graduated from The
Detroit College of Law with a Juris Doctor degree.
