Clinical Practice Guidelines
Clinical Practice Guidelines are evidence-based decision tools
intended to assist physicians in the management of highly prevalent
acute and chronic conditions. The goals of the CPG’s are to help
reduce clinical practice variation, improve patient outcomes,
and control medical costs. The CPG’s are developed and revised
in collaboration with Care Choices practicing physicians
with representation from various specialties and geographic regions,
utilizing clinical expertise, current literature, and national
guidelines. Additionally, the Care Choices Quality Performance
Improvement Committee has reviewed and approved these guidelines.
Clinical Practice Guidelines are sent to all Care Choices
primary care physicians and physicians in relevant specialties.
Each CPG is reviewed minimally every two years for changes in
evidenced-based national standards and revised as appropriate.
